How well do you know the flags of the world? Identify countries by their flag emoji and test your geography knowledge!
Find the Flag is a geography quiz game that uses flag emoji to test your knowledge of countries around the world. Each round shows you a flag emoji and asks you to identify the country it belongs to. You can choose from multiple-choice answers or type in your guess, depending on the difficulty level.
The game covers flags from all recognized countries and territories that have flag emoji in the Unicode standard. That includes over 250 flags โ from well-known ones like ๐บ๐ธ United States and ๐ฏ๐ต Japan to lesser-known flags like ๐ป๐บ Vanuatu and ๐ฐ๐ฎ Kiribati. Each correct answer earns points, and your streak of consecutive correct answers builds a multiplier for bonus points.
Flag emoji are a special category in the Unicode Standard. Unlike most emoji that use a single codepoint, flag emoji are built from pairs of Regional Indicator Symbol letters. For example, the US flag ๐บ๐ธ is composed of the regional indicators for U and S. This clever system means that any country with a two-letter ISO 3166-1 code can theoretically have a flag emoji.
Interestingly, flag emoji can look very different across platforms. Apple, Google, Samsung, and Microsoft each design their own flag graphics, which sometimes leads to subtle visual differences. Some platforms choose not to display certain flags at all, showing the country code letters instead.
